Job Posting Workers will manually prepare the ground, plant, cultivate, weed, harvest, field pack, apply fertilizers and pesticides, and prune fruits and vegetables by way of assigned tasks given by supervisors. Workers are required to perform given tasks with minimum supervision and expected to keep pace with the group. Workers will clear the ground of rocks, sticks, roots and other debris, by hand, clear brush and trees with a chain saw, apply compost. Manually weed fields, lay plastic, prune, tie up, drive stakes, pull stakes, by hand or using hand tools, drain water from fields with hand tools and shovels when needed. May repair fences and farm buildings, high tunnels, shade structures and participate in irrigation activities, routine property maintenance such as mowing and weed eating, spraying and regular grounds maintenance. Workers will clean and maintain tools and equipment, follow supervisor instructions to not damage the crop or surrounding plants. Workers may be asked to prep trailers with correct packaging and assist with scanning badges and recording information. Load and unload trucks, trailers and bins. For some crops, workers will take their packed product and have their ID badges scanned to record individual harvest and to be inspected to ensure the correct quality is being packed and take corrective measures if not. Workers with a clean MVR and who are able to obtain a drivers license, may use employer owned vehicles to haul supplies, crops and transport workers to and from worker housing to farm properties, grocery stores, etc. Driving does not occur on a regular schedule. No applicants will be rejected for not possessing a drivers license or are unwilling to drive a company vehicle, driving duties are optional to the worker. Drug screens are performed upon accident, incident or suspicion, at the cost of the employer. No illegal drug use is allowed at or on the work-sites or housing. Failure or refusal of a drug screen is grounds for immediate termination. Applicants must have one month of verifiable experience in harvesting strawberries. During peak planting and harvest times, workers may work 60-65 hours a week.
