Farm Crew Lead (Clare Gardens)

Clare Gardens is a three-acre mixed vegetable farm in Neosho, Wisconsin. We sell farm produce through a subscription share service to long-term care institutions in the Milwaukee area. Clare Gardens uses sustainable and organic growing methods. We’re a production-focused farm, we love working hard and growing lots of food. We also are proud to offer an integrated spiritual experience to our Partner Residents. We aim to provide a consistent, high-quality product to our kitchens while striving to be good land stewards. Under the direction of the farm manager, the Crew Lead is responsible for daily farm tasks such as harvesting, weeding, planting, tending to crops, and cleaning. Must have a strong understanding of organic growing practices. This is a seasonal position, with opportunity for advancement to full time / permanent. Hours: • Monday – Friday, • 40 hours per week • Position begins April 2026, with potential to run through October Primary Duties: • Harvesting • Hand weeding • Transplanting • Irrigation installation • Greenhouse seeding • Amending/fertilization • Post-harvest handling and distribution Advanced Duties: • Train and lead coworkers as necessary to complete primary duties • Ensures that proper and accurate records are being kept with regard to field related or harvest activities • Demonstrate safe operation and proper care for all equipment • Works at a quick pace with ability to appropriately balance speed and quality of work Safety and Security • Uses safe working techniques, i.e. lifting, moving, etc. • Uses safe tool handling techniques as per instructions. • Follows farm food-safety rules. Required Skills • Able to lift 50lbs, and enjoys physical labor • Able to walk, stand, squat, and kneel for extended periods • Enjoys working hard outdoors in all types of weather • Able to receive constructive criticism • Must be able to multitask with ease and proficiency • Must be able to empower coworkers to succeed in their daily work • Understands the importance of following procedure and sticking with the system in place • Works well independently; can keep focused on a task • Able to take written and verbal direction well • Awesome communication skills Clare Gardens is part of Trinity Senior Services, the management company that operates Milwaukee Catholic Home, Trinity Woods, Clare Gardens, Queen of Peace, Our Lady of Angels and Trinity Senior Services Care Partners.
