Livestock Hauler

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Livestock Hauler, where you’ll play a vital role in transporting livestock safely and efficiently across various routes. As a Livestock Hauler, you will ensure animals are transported humanely while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Duties • Operate a manual or automatic transmission tractor-trailer to transport livestock across designated routes primarily across Iowa, Missouri, and Nebraska. • Load and unload livestock carefully using appropriate equipment and handling tools to ensure safety and animal welfare. • Drive safely and responsibly on route driving schedules while adhering to all federal, state, and local transportation laws. • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure and upon return. • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, load details, and route information in compliance with regulatory requirements. • Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or issues encountered during transit. • Assist in minor maintenance of trucks and trailers to guarantee optimal performance and safety standards are met at all times. Requirements/Experience • CDL-A required with 2 years experience in commercial driving; livestock experience is a plus. • TQA certification is required. BQA is a plus. • Pre-hire drug screen and DOT random screens required. • Insurable motor vehicle record required. • References required. • Driver located in Des Moines, Ames, Sioux City, Carroll, Mason City, and surrounding areas. • Pay structured as percentage of load.
