Seed Production Technician

Help grow and process open-pollinated vegetable and flower seeds for our catalog and wholesale customers. We specialize in varieties adapted to arid and short-season climates. Responsibilities: • Plant, cultivate, and rogue seed crops for genetic purity • Hand-pollinate and isolate crops to prevent cross-pollination • Harvest, thresh, clean, and package seeds • Conduct germination testing and quality control • Maintain detailed field records and variety notes • Assist with catalog descriptions and trial garden evaluations Requirements: • Knowledge of plant biology, pollination, and genetics helpful • Attention to detail and patience for meticulous work • Experience with vegetable gardening or farming • Ability to identify plant varieties and off-types • Comfortable with repetitive hand work (seed cleaning, sorting) • Interest in seed sovereignty and crop diversity
