Senior Horticulture Manager

Horticulture Director Position: • Provide aesthetic direction and inspirational displays aligning with design standards emphasizing Maine's character. • Set annual goals in collaboration with the VP of Plants and Science. • Manage plant health, soil care, and ecologically sound practices, including integrated pest management. • Lead implementation of organization's policies (Living Collections, Tree Care, IMP) and ensure collection ethics are followed. • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including OSHA. • Oversee plant growth, nursery operations, and seasonal display planning. • Manage garden construction, upkeep, renovation, and external contractor interactions. Essential Skills and Qualifications: • Leadership experience in horticulture or related field. • Strategic thinking and goal-setting abilities. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Knowledge of horticulture principles and best practices. • Ability to manage teams and prioritize tasks effectively.
