Beef Center Manager

Texas A&M AgriLife Research is hiring a Beef Center Manager in College Station to lead cattle care, herd development, staff training, facilities, feed operations, and support for teaching, research, and Extension programs. Responsibilities • Develop budgets and operating plans with livestock and research-center leadership • Train employees in animal handling, husbandry, equipment operation, sanitation, and facility care • Provide high-quality care for production, teaching, and research cattle while maintaining regulatory compliance • Maintain animal inventories, production records, management data, and facility performance measures • Manage pastures, buildings, equipment, preventive maintenance, and planned replacements • Coordinate feed services, formulate rations with faculty and managers, process commodities, and track product use • Manage Red Angus, Beefmaster, and teaching herds, including reproduction, donations, marketing, and sales • Supply animals and logistics for classes, research, state shows, youth camps, judging, 4-H, and FFA programs • Coordinate outside facility use and cattle sales Qualifications A bachelor's degree in animal science or an equivalent combination of education and experience plus five years of related work is required. Applicants need substantial large-animal handling experience, familiarity with farm and technical equipment, strong recordkeeping and communication, and the ability to lead multiple priorities. The role requires lifting 50-pound feed sacks and hay bales weighing 65–110 pounds. This is a full-time staff position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications.
