About this job

Benedikt Dairy is hiring a part-time, year-round processor at its small grass-fed Jersey dairy in Goffstown, New Hampshire. Max and Melissa operate the farm with their family, milk cows on rotational pasture, and turn that milk into products sold directly through the farm stand and CSA. The processor will make yogurt, butter, ice cream, and bottled milk in a licensed farmstead setting where cleanliness, consistency, and careful technical work matter every day. What you will do β€’ Make yogurt according to the creamery's cultured-product procedure and production schedule β€’ Separate cream and churn, portion, and package butter β€’ Prepare and package the farm's ice cream while protecting batch quality and traceability β€’ Bottle milk and handle clean glass containers according to the farm's process controls β€’ Clean and sanitize vats, utensils, work surfaces, containers, and production areas β€’ Follow detailed recipes and procedures, label finished goods correctly, and communicate supply or quality concerns How the work fits together This is a hands-on creamery job tied directly to the farm's own milk supply. A shift may move from separating cream to monitoring a cultured batch, packaging butter, bottling milk, and completing the full wash-and-sanitize routine. The processor must keep raw inputs, pasteurized products, clean containers, and dirty equipment properly separated. Because the farm has a small production capacity rather than a mass-production line, one person's accuracy has an immediate effect on product quality and what the farm stand can offer customers. What the farm is looking for Prior creamery or food-service experience is required. Strong candidates understand that dairy processing depends on time, temperature, sanitation, measurement, and repeatable procedures. They should be comfortable working alone or with a small team, able to lift heavy items, and willing to perform detailed cleaning without shortcuts. Experience with cultured dairy, pasteurization, butter, ice cream, bottling, food-safety records, or reusable-container systems should be highlighted. The farm is looking for someone dependable who can learn its exact methods. Schedule, conditions, and compensation This is a part-time, year-round Monday-through-Friday position paying $18–$20 per hour depending on experience. The employer notes that higher pay is negotiable for highly qualified applicants. Housing is not provided, so candidates must already have a workable commute to Goffstown. Applicants should use the interview to confirm expected weekly hours, typical shift times, any holiday production needs, and whether the role includes product discounts or other farm benefits. This is an in-person agricultural position. Priorities can change with animal health, weather, crop condition, water quality, equipment availability, and harvest timing. The successful person must communicate clearly, protect animal welfare and food safety, and leave useful notes when a task or concern carries into the next shift. Gates, tools, vehicles, feed areas, water systems, and production spaces should be left clean, secure, and ready for the next person. Applicants should expect physical work that may include long periods of standing or walking, bending, lifting, repetitive hand tasks, wet or dusty conditions, and work outdoors or in agricultural buildings. Dependable arrival matters because livestock and living production systems cannot simply wait for a late shift. Candidates should confirm the exact weekly schedule, overtime treatment, training period, and benefit eligibility with the employer before accepting an offer. How to apply Use the dairy-processing application form on Benedikt Dairy's current jobs page and answer the farm's request to tell them about yourself in detail. Explain prior creamery or food-service work, the dairy products or equipment you have handled, sanitation and recordkeeping experience, lifting ability, local housing, and Monday-through-Friday availability.
