Farm Landscape Crew Leader
The Farm

About this job
The Farm in Newnan, Georgia is hiring a full-time Landscape Crew Leader to guide a small, positive grounds team and keep a working farm property safe, healthy, and attractive. This position combines hands-on horticulture with daily crew leadership. The farm includes landscaped areas, irrigation systems, pasture edges, horse fencing, and spaces used by horses and cattle, so the work calls for someone who can see the whole property rather than treating each mowing or pruning assignment as an isolated task.
Crew leadership
β’ Organize daily priorities and communicate clear assignments to the farm's small landscape crew
β’ Work alongside the team while monitoring pace, workmanship, and safe tool use
β’ Teach practical methods for mowing, pruning, planting, cleanup, and irrigation work
β’ Make sure equipment and materials are ready before work begins and returned properly afterward
β’ Identify incomplete work, property hazards, or maintenance problems and follow them through to resolution
The crew leader should be comfortable making a realistic plan when weather, equipment, animal activity, or an urgent repair changes the day. Good leadership here means calm direction and consistent follow-up. It also means taking responsibility for the finished result, communicating with the farm's decision-makers, and creating an outdoor workplace where a small group can be productive without cutting corners.
Landscape and irrigation responsibilities
Daily work may include lawn and bed maintenance, plant identification, pruning, weed management, planting, seasonal cleanup, and general grounds upkeep. The leader will oversee irrigation installation, troubleshooting, repair, and routine maintenance so plantings receive appropriate water without waste. Candidates should be able to recognize when a plant problem is related to watering, insects, disease, soil conditions, or physical damage and know when a specialist should be consulted.
Farm and animal-area care
The role maintains horse fencing and helps keep the horses' environment safe. Employees must be comfortable entering pastures and working around horses and cattle, although prior animal-care experience is helpful rather than mandatory. Gates, fences, irrigation components, tools, and debris can all create risks around livestock, so the crew leader needs to notice problems early and secure the work area before leaving.
Qualifications
Applicants should bring proven landscape-maintenance, lawn-care, gardening, or horticulture experience and prior supervision or crew-lead responsibility in an outdoor setting. A valid driver's license and experience operating work vehicles safely are required. Strong candidates can identify common plants, troubleshoot irrigation, use grounds equipment confidently, and explain tasks clearly. The position requires stamina for year-round outdoor work, the ability to lift and move heavy materials, and a constructive attitude with coworkers.
Pay and benefits
Pay starts at $25 per hour. The listing includes health and dental insurance, paid time off, a 401(k), and flexible scheduling. Candidates should confirm eligibility dates, any employee contribution, typical hours, weekend expectations, and the exact work schedule during the interview.
How to apply
Apply through the current Indeed listing. Use the application to explain your crew-lead experience, horticultural knowledge, irrigation skills, driving background, and familiarity with farm grounds or livestock areas. Practical examples of solving an irrigation failure, improving a maintenance route, training a new worker, or making an outdoor worksite safer will be especially useful.
