Clemson University's new College of Veterinary Medicine is hiring an Ambulatory Licensed Veterinary Technician to support large-animal service calls, farm clients, veterinary education, and day-to-day clinical operations. The technician accompanies veterinarians into the field and helps deliver safe, organized care in farm and ambulatory settings. What you will do • Accompany the on-duty veterinarian on farm and ambulatory calls • Restrain large animals and assist with examinations, treatments, and procedures • Participate in a rotating after-hours service schedule • Help train veterinary students through orientation, clinical instruction, and hands-on guidance • Enter medical information in the electronic record and maintain accurate documentation • Schedule appointments, respond to client questions and emergencies, and keep service work flowing • Maintain vehicle, equipment, medication, and supply inventories • Build client-education and producer-outreach programs with veterinarians and students • Monitor quality, licensing, accreditation, safety, and recordkeeping requirements Qualifications Applicants need preparation in animal husbandry, agriculture, veterinary technology, or a related field, plus two years of relevant experience such as large-animal ambulatory practice or work with livestock in a farm setting. An active South Carolina veterinary-technician license, or eligibility to obtain one, is required. The work includes animal handling, kneeling, lifting, biohazard exposure, dust, heat, cold, and changing farm conditions. This is a regular full-time position scheduled for 37.5 hours per week with a posted hiring range of $37,200–$50,000. Applications are reviewed as received and the role remains open until filled.
