Part-Time Farm Hand — Morton Farm

Dartmouth College is hiring multiple part-time Farm Hands on a rolling basis for Morton Farm in Etna, about ten minutes from the main campus. The farm supports Dartmouth's equestrian program, and this role helps the Farm Manager and Barn Manager provide consistent horse care and maintain clean, safe facilities. Responsibilities • Clean horse stalls, paddocks, barn floors, and other assigned farm areas • Fill and clean water buckets in stalls and fields • Fill hay bags, stack hay, and keep feed and care areas orderly • Sweep barns and complete general cleaning and maintenance • Assist with projects that protect the facility and horses' well-being • Provide additional horse care as trained and directed • Depending on experience, operate tractors, RTVs, small equipment, and tools Qualifications Applicants need previous horse or farm experience, a willingness to learn, a positive team attitude, and the ability to work independently with close attention to animal care. The role requires work in heat and cold, regular lifting, pulling, or pushing up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing and walking, and frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching. Employees work around dirt, dust, pollen, and animal hair and must arrange their own transportation to the farm. This is a temporary part-time, non-exempt role paying $16.25 per hour.
