Ranch Hand — OSU Research Range

Oklahoma State University's Field and Research Service Unit is hiring a full-time Ranch Hand for its research range near Stillwater. The unit supports field- and laboratory-based agricultural and natural-resource research, and this position combines livestock and range work with equipment operation, repairs, and preventive maintenance. What you will do • Support livestock, range, and research projects under established protocols • Operate tractors, skid loaders, hay equipment, sprayers, chainsaws, and other agricultural equipment • Inspect, maintain, and repair research and farm machinery • Help implement a preventive-maintenance program and keep accurate work records • Complete basic small-engine, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and facility repairs • Use computers and electronic communications for research and operational coordination • Work occasional evenings and weekends as animal, weather, and project needs require Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent is required. OSU prefers vocational or technical preparation in plant and soil science, biosystems engineering, animal science, agricultural education, natural resources, or a related field. Preferred candidates bring three years of relevant experience operating farm or ranch equipment and managing livestock, range, research work, and data. Experience with artificial insemination and pregnancy checking is valuable. Preferred credentials include a Class A CDL, Oklahoma agricultural chemical applicator licensing, and artificial-insemination certification. The regular schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends. The hiring range is $15.75–$19.50 per hour.
