Seasonal Farm Hand — August to October

Cedar Crate Farm is hiring seasonal Farm Hands for its late-summer and fall harvest in Waldorf, Minnesota. The farm grows vegetables with sustainable and organic practices for approximately 100 CSA members, the Mankato Farmers' Market, and local wholesale customers. Both full-time and part-time schedules are available, and applicants do not need prior farm experience. What you will do • Harvest fresh vegetables and handle crops carefully to maintain quality • Wash, grade, and pack produce for customers • Plant, weed, irrigate, and complete other crop-care work as the season requires • Keep farm workspaces clean, safe, and organized • Help set up and take down the farmers market stand • Assist customers and support produce sales at market • Work closely with a collaborative farm crew and shift between tasks as priorities change What the farm is looking for • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic • Interest in farming, local food, or sustainable agriculture • Able to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and complete repetitive physical tasks • Able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly • Willing to work outside in changing weather • Cooperative attitude and willingness to learn; farming experience is welcome but not required Schedule The position runs from August through October 2026. Full-time schedules are 32–40 hours per week, and part-time schedules are 16–32 hours. The farm offers flexibility when setting individual schedules. Compensation and perks Pay is $15–$20 per hour based on experience. Crew receive a $200 gear stipend, free farm food, hands-on training in sustainable vegetable production, and a friendly team environment.
