Urban Farmer Educator

Green City Growers is hiring a seasonal, full-time Urban Farmer Educator to support school gardens in Boston and nearby communities. The role combines professional food growing, youth education, client service, and independent travel between urban garden sites. What you will do • Plan, plant, maintain, and harvest raised-bed gardens using Green City Growers' horticultural practices • Lead hands-on garden lessons for students from pre-K through grade 12 using prepared weekly lesson plans • Facilitate garden programs for adults at workplaces and, when scheduled, at senior living or special-education sites • Represent the company professionally with school staff, clients, students, and program participants • Document completed work, future site needs, lesson activity, and customer feedback • Drive a company vehicle between multiple sites during the workday Qualifications • At least one year leading children or youth in a school, camp, after-school, farm, or outdoor education setting • At least one year of farming or professional garden experience • Strong communication, personal organization, follow-through, and independent judgment • Able to complete physically demanding outdoor work in all weather and move up to 50 pounds regularly • Driver's license and good driving record; a motor vehicle record check may be required • Comfortable with early mornings or longer days when site schedules require them • Must complete a CORI background check Schedule and pay This seasonal position runs from March through late November or early December. It is approximately 40 hours per week and pays $20–$23 per hour.
