Mesquite Landscape Services is hiring an arbor groundman in Mesa to support tree climbers and the safe movement of material on active tree-care sites. The job is the ground anchor for climbing operations: this person helps manage ropes and work zones, processes brush, keeps tools available, and prevents workers or bystanders from entering hazardous areas. It is a hands-on position for someone who stays attentive and communicates clearly around overhead work. What you will do • Support the climber and assist with rigging and controlled lowering of branches as directed. • Maintain cutting and drop zones and help keep coworkers, customers, and bystanders clear. • Move brush and debris and feed the chipper according to training and the operator's safety rules. • Organize ropes, saws, hand tools, and other equipment so the crew can work without creating trip or entanglement hazards. • Complete detailed site cleanup and load material for transport or disposal. • Report damaged gear, changing site conditions, and any unsafe act or uncertainty immediately. How the work fits together The groundman prepares the work zone and remains connected to the climber's plan from the first cut through final cleanup. Rigging and brush processing happen only when communication is clear and the zone is controlled. Material flow is organized so ropes stay usable, the chipper is approached correctly, and access remains open. At completion, the crew accounts for gear, cleans the entire work area, and checks that no debris or damage has been overlooked.
