Bedding Plant Attendant — Fall Season

Southwood Landscape & Garden Center is hiring a seasonal, full-time Bedding Plant Attendant in Tulsa. Care for flowers, herbs, and vegetables while assisting customers. What you will do • Water, prune, and feed plants. • Organize and label stock; keep the yard clean and safe. • Gather purchases and help customers locate merchandise. • Follow department priorities and support coworkers. How the work fits together Southwood began as a Tulsa landscape business in 1982 and moved to its present garden-center site in 1985. Joe and Ginny Schulte and their daughters Margaret Schulte and Brenda Baird continue to run the family operation. The five-acre retail property includes a large greenhouse and outdoor plant displays. A nearby growing facility produces many of the nursery's pansies, roses, mums, and summer annuals using its own growing mixes. This role is based in the bedding-plant department, combining practical horticulture with customer assistance. You report to the Bedding Plant Section Leader, with direction from the Retail Operations Manager when the section leader is absent. What the employer is looking for • Have a high-school diploma or GED, plus one to two years of retail/horticultural experience or basic plant knowledge. • Be punctual, approachable, and adaptable. • Stand or walk most of the day and repeatedly lift fifty pounds. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Work outdoors around fertilizers and pesticides, wearing the nursery uniform. Weekends and overtime may be required.
