Entry-Level Landscape Team Member
Bright Landscapes
🌱
About this job
Bright Landscapes is welcoming entry-level team members who want to build professional landscape skills in Cullman and neighboring North Alabama communities. The founder-led company trains people who begin with minimal industry experience and combines residential, commercial, and property-management horticulture. This role is a fit for someone who is new to the trade but serious about learning, serving customers, and growing with a small team.
What you will do
• Assist with planting, bed preparation, mulch, turf, pruning, and other living-landscape work under supervision.
• Support routine maintenance at residential, commercial, and managed properties.
• Load, stage, clean, and return plants, materials, tools, and equipment correctly.
• Follow trained methods for safe hand-tool and landscape-equipment use.
• Protect client property, communicate respectfully, and leave work areas clean.
• Build task knowledge and take on more independent work as skills and reliability are demonstrated.
How the work fits together
Bright deliberately develops part of its team from the ground up. A new employee should expect clear direction, repetition, and feedback while learning how soil preparation, plant handling, maintenance timing, and finished detail affect quality. The employee works alongside experienced professionals, checks the plan before starting, asks about unfamiliar plants or equipment, and applies lessons consistently at the next property.
What the employer is looking for
• Minimal landscape experience is acceptable when paired with hard work, humility, accountability, and willingness to learn.
• Interest in plants, outdoor work, customer service, and developing a long-term landscape skill set.
• Ability to work safely and cooperatively in a family-oriented, locally owned business.
• Reliable attendance and readiness for active work at changing properties across the employer's North Alabama service area.
Schedule, conditions, and compensation
Bright does not publish a wage, precise hours, or benefits for the entry-level opportunity on its careers page. The office lists business hours Monday–Thursday 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m.–noon, but applicants should not assume those are crew hours. Confirm starting pay, reporting time, weekly schedule, overtime, transportation, tools, and benefit eligibility directly with the employer.
This is an in-person horticulture and outdoor position with a small operation. Daily priorities can change with weather, plant or animal condition, equipment availability, customer schedules, and the season. The successful person should arrive ready to work, communicate early when a task or condition is unclear, follow the employer's safety and quality procedures, and leave tools, vehicles, production areas, and job sites secure and ready for the next shift.
Applicants should expect active work that may include long periods of standing or walking, bending, lifting, repetitive hand tasks, noise, dust, mud, pollen, heat, cold, rain, or work around moving equipment. The exact physical demands differ by assignment. Candidates should discuss any accommodation needs with the employer and confirm the final schedule, overtime treatment, training period, travel expectations, and benefit eligibility before accepting an offer. Only compensation and benefits expressly published by the employer are included here; unpublished terms have not been estimated.
How to apply
Use Bright Landscapes' direct career application or email office@brightlandscapesllc.com. Explain why you want to learn the trade, any related gardening or physical-work experience, availability, transportation, and the skills you hope to develop.
