About this job

Blue Moon Community Farm is hiring a Greenhouse Manager for its 2026 growing season near Stoughton. Train into a management role while remaining part of the farm's hands-on vegetable crew. What you will do • Work in the seedling and transplant greenhouses. • Help manage high-tunnel crop production as your training progresses. • Join general field and vegetable-production work with the core crew. • Contribute to reliable, efficient growing for CSA members and market customers. How the work fits together Owner and primary manager Kristen began farming through an apprenticeship in New York's Hudson Valley. After several years working with CSA farms, she started Blue Moon in 2004 and moved the operation to its permanent Town of Dunn home in 2007. The farm has grown from a single-acre plot into roughly six acres of intensive vegetable production. Its modest size lets the team pay close attention to the land, refine growing skills, and get to know the people who eat the harvest. CSA relationships remain central to the business. Members connect with the farm both on site and at Madison's Westside Community Market. Assistant managers, field employees, and worker-share members contribute to the season together. Greenhouse work supports that wider growing program rather than operating as an isolated department. What the employer is looking for • Be punctual, hardworking, and respectful toward coworkers. • Bring a willingness to learn and improve practical growing methods. • Describe relevant experience; initiative and a strong contribution to the crew also matter. Schedule, conditions, and compensation This is a full-time seasonal position starting at $18 hourly, with relevant experience considered. The season can extend into September–November with a flexible end date. A CSA share and surplus produce are included. Full-season staff may receive paid time off and a work-gear stipend; discuss eligibility for a remaining-season start. Raises and bonuses depend on contributions. How to apply Email Kristen a resume or work-history summary, two work-related references, and a statement of interest and availability. An in-person farm interview is generally required, including for applicants relocating from outside the area.
