Groundskeeper — Farm and Gardens

Los Poblanos is hiring a Groundskeeper to care for its farm landscape and historic gardens in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. Work with the Garden and Landscape Manager to keep plants healthy and outdoor spaces ready for guests, events, and daily farm activity. What you will do • Weed, prune, deadhead, mow, water, and care for trees and planting beds. • Maintain irrigation, including drip systems, sprinklers, and acequias. • Clean paths, patios, outdoor furniture, and parking areas; remove leaves and debris. • Use and maintain gardening equipment and assist elsewhere on the farm as directed. How the work fits together The Rembe family's preservation work connects lodging and hospitality with agriculture on a 25-acre property. Kitchen gardens supply Campo with organically grown crops, including varieties adapted to New Mexico. Row covers and an unheated hoop house extend vegetable production into colder months. A historic greenhouse supports seedlings and cuttings, including lavender propagation. Formal gardens designed in the 1930s remain part of the landscape alongside newer plantings chosen for lower water use, pollinator value, and edible qualities. Mature cottonwoods, flower beds, fountains, and garden paths give the grounds team a varied setting to maintain. This role supports that whole property, combining horticultural care with the practical upkeep of outdoor areas used by farm staff and visitors.
