Landscape Laborer
HMS Landscape
🌱
About this job
HMS Landscape is hiring a full-time landscape laborer for its Phoenix field team. The role supports the recurring care and improvement of planted outdoor spaces, with particular attention to clean trimming, debris removal, and a consistent finish at every property. This is practical crew work for someone who can keep pace outdoors while remaining careful around plants, irrigation, buildings, vehicles, and customers.
What you will do
• Trim assigned plants and landscape areas using the method and tools demonstrated by the crew lead.
• Rake and collect leaves, clippings, branches, and other landscape debris without damaging nearby plantings.
• Use blowers and hand tools to leave walks, beds, and work areas clean at the end of service.
• Load, unload, inspect, and organize the tools and materials needed for the day's properties.
• Follow established safety practices and maintain awareness of coworkers, customers, traffic, and equipment.
• Report damaged irrigation, unsafe site conditions, plant stress, or work that requires a technician or foreman.
How the work fits together
The position works within an established landscape crew. The day begins with the route, property priorities, and equipment check, followed by travel to assigned sites. Trimming, raking, blowing, and cleanup must be coordinated so one task does not undo another. Before departure, the crew checks planted areas and hard surfaces together, corrects missed details, secures equipment, and communicates any issue that should be addressed on a return visit.
What the employer is looking for
• At least one year of related landscape experience is requested by the employer.
• Ability to lift approximately 40 pounds and complete repetitive outdoor work through a full shift.
• Dependable Monday-through-Friday availability and flexibility when field conditions change.
• Safe work habits, legal work authorization, and willingness to participate in the employer's E-Verify process.
Schedule, conditions, and compensation
HMS describes this as full-time work providing 40 hours each week, Monday through Friday. The employer does not publish a wage or benefits for this opening, so no compensation has been estimated. Applicants should confirm daily start and end times, overtime, reporting location, transportation between properties, required clothing, and any benefit eligibility during the hiring conversation.
This is an in-person horticulture and outdoor position with a small operation. Daily priorities can change with weather, plant or animal condition, equipment availability, customer schedules, and the season. The successful person should arrive ready to work, communicate early when a task or condition is unclear, follow the employer's safety and quality procedures, and leave tools, vehicles, production areas, and job sites secure and ready for the next shift.
Applicants should expect active work that may include long periods of standing or walking, bending, lifting, repetitive hand tasks, noise, dust, mud, pollen, heat, cold, rain, or work around moving equipment. The exact physical demands differ by assignment. Candidates should discuss any accommodation needs with the employer and confirm the final schedule, overtime treatment, training period, travel expectations, and benefit eligibility before accepting an offer. Only compensation and benefits expressly published by the employer are included here; unpublished terms have not been estimated.
