About this job

Walker Landscapes is hiring a seasonal landscape laborer for active projects throughout the Greater Mat-Su area. The father-and-son business builds premium residential and commercial outdoor spaces, and the laborer supplies the careful physical work that keeps grading, material placement, planting areas, and built landscape features moving on schedule. What you will do • Perform sustained manual labor on active landscape-installation sites. • Load, carry, stage, and place soil, aggregate, stone, plants, and other project materials as directed. • Assist skilled team members with site preparation, landscape construction, and finish work. • Use assigned hand and power tools safely and stay clear of operating equipment. • Drive a work truck and tow equipment or materials when authorized and properly trained. • Keep the site, truck, and tools organized and communicate hazards or incomplete work. How the work fits together The laborer joins a small crew where clear communication and reliable follow-through are visible every day. Work may begin with loading and towing, move into excavation support or material placement, and finish with detail work and cleanup. Because projects are spread around Mat-Su communities, the employee must be ready for long days, travel between sites, and changing assignments while maintaining safe lifting and tool practices. What the employer is looking for • A valid driver's license is required. • Ability and willingness to complete demanding manual labor for long shifts. • Ability and willingness to drive a truck while towing equipment. • Dependability, honest communication, and readiness to learn within a supportive small-business crew. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The employer publishes approximately 60 hours per week at $20–$30 per hour. The stated 2026 season runs from May 1 through October 15. Candidates should confirm the remaining start date, weekly distribution of those hours, overtime treatment, exact service area, transportation and towing expectations, and whether any year-round transition is available before accepting the role. This is an in-person horticulture and outdoor position with a small operation. Daily priorities can change with weather, plant or animal condition, equipment availability, customer schedules, and the season. The successful person should arrive ready to work, communicate early when a task or condition is unclear, follow the employer's safety and quality procedures, and leave tools, vehicles, production areas, and job sites secure and ready for the next shift. Applicants should expect active work that may include long periods of standing or walking, bending, lifting, repetitive hand tasks, noise, dust, mud, pollen, heat, cold, rain, or work around moving equipment. The exact physical demands differ by assignment. Candidates should discuss any accommodation needs with the employer and confirm the final schedule, overtime treatment, training period, travel expectations, and benefit eligibility before accepting an offer. Only compensation and benefits expressly published by the employer are included here; unpublished terms have not been estimated. How to apply Complete the application form on Walker Landscapes' employment page or email a resume and brief cover letter to seth@walkerak.com. Describe outdoor labor, landscaping, towing, truck, tool, hardscape, planting, or equipment experience and confirm availability through October 15.
