Landscape Maintenance Technician

Oakridge Nursery & Landscaping is hiring a Landscape Maintenance Technician in Brandon. This hands-on gardening role focuses on shrubs, perennials, trees, planting beds, and custom containers through the outdoor growing season. What you will do • Remove weeds, clean planting beds, rake debris, and spread mulch. • Prune shrubs and perennials and trim trees. • Remove or divide plants as needed. • Deliver custom planters and water or fertilize annual containers. How the work fits together Oakridge began in 1979 under Mike and Robyn Coughlin, expanding from landscape work into a retail nursery. Three former employees became its owners in 2016. Today the Brandon business combines garden retail, design, installation, and ongoing plant care. Its nursery carries shade and fruit trees, ornamental shrubs, perennials, annuals, and indoor plants, along with soils and garden supplies. Customers can also arrange planting, delivery, and custom-container services. The seasonal selection shifts from spring flowers and vegetable starts to autumn mums and pumpkins, then winter greens. Maintenance connects that planting and design work with the care gardens need after installation. The technician helps keep established beds and containers healthy, orderly, and attractive rather than working only on new construction or initial planting projects. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The position is seasonal and full-time, with the operating season running April through November. A flexible schedule is required.
