Tree Grounds Crew Member

R.O. Landscape & Tree Service is hiring a full-time grounds crew member for tree work in Tucson. The locally owned company needs a reliable field employee to support tree operations from the ground, operate chipping and stump equipment as assigned, and leave sites thoroughly clean. Published pay ranges from $17 to $30 per hour depending on experience. The work combines production, safety awareness, and constant coordination with climbers and the rest of the crew. What you will do • Support basic tree operations and maintain awareness of active cutting, climbing, rigging, and drop zones. • Operate or assist with the stump grinder and chipper after receiving task-specific training and authorization. • Move brush, branches, logs, and debris using safe handling and crew communication. • Keep ropes, tools, equipment, and access areas organized so the climbing crew can work safely. • Complete detailed raking, blowing, hauling, and site cleanup after tree operations. • Inspect equipment and report damage, hazards, or unsafe conditions immediately. How the work fits together Tree work is coordinated around the climber and an explicitly controlled work zone. The grounds employee helps prepare equipment and access, monitors overhead activity, handles material only when it is safe to do so, and keeps brush flowing through the planned process. Stump grinding, chipping, hauling, and final cleanup are completed without exposing coworkers, customers, buildings, vehicles, or utilities to avoidable risk. Clear verbal and visual communication is essential throughout the day. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The company publishes $17–$30 per hour depending on experience and lists 401(k) matching, dental insurance, health insurance, and paid time off.
