Wholesale Nursery Manager

Marcum's Nursery is hiring a full-time Wholesale Nursery Manager in Ardmore. Oversee plant production, inventory, wholesale orders, and customer relationships while leading the team that serves professional plant buyers. What you will do • Plan daily operations, crop schedules, and inventory with the growing team. • Build wholesale accounts and maintain relationships with trade customers. • Coordinate suppliers, order staging, loading, and delivery. • Train staff and monitor plant quality, record accuracy, and workplace safety. How the work fits together The Marcum family's nursery began in 1975 with greenhouses behind Cherie and Bill's home. They first grew tomatoes for local grocery stores, then added hanging baskets as demand developed. The Goldsby nursery opened in 1982, followed by additional Oklahoma locations. Sons Monty and Kelly continued the business after their parents retired, with another generation joining the work. Today the independent nursery combines greenhouse growing, trees, shrubs, garden retail, and wholesale service. The Ardmore management opening focuses on the wholesale operation, connecting production decisions with the needs of landscapers, municipalities, contractors, and other professional customers. Keeping plant material healthy and available is central to that relationship. The manager works across growing, stock control, staff development, and order fulfillment rather than handling sales alone. What the employer is looking for • Have three to five years of wholesale nursery or comparable horticultural experience. • Bring plant-identification, production, account-development, and team-leadership skills. • Hold a valid driver's license; a CDL or pesticide applicator license is preferred. • Work outside in varied weather and regularly lift 50 pounds.
