Kroka Expeditions is hiring for the Kroka Community Farmer position in Marlow, NH. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property. What you will do • Seed, transplant, cultivate, irrigate, harvest, wash, pack, and store crops according to the farm's plan and food-safety procedures. • Use and care for assigned hand tools, wash-pack equipment, carts, and field equipment within training. • Monitor crops and communicate pest, disease, water, weather, quality, or harvest-timing concerns promptly. • Seed, cultivate, harvest, and distribute diversified vegetables and care for fruit trees, berries, and perennial crops according to the lead farm manager's production and food-use plan. • Manage intensive rotational grazing and fencing and complete morning, noon, and evening animal chores, including dairy and poultry care and milking, with consistent observation and secure handoffs. • Help make cheese and yogurt, maintain farm equipment and barn spaces, and lead age-appropriate daily or weekly work projects with students, apprentices, and staff while protecting both learning and production goals. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The farm season runs through October 31. A typical day is 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with hour-long breakfast and lunch breaks; staff receive one full day and one half day off each week. Compensation is salaried based on experience, with on-campus housing, meals, farm produce, and participation in community life included. Year-round work may be possible for a person who demonstrates the interest and capacity to contribute during winter.
