About this job
Roca Berry Farm is hiring for the Fall Cleaning & Farm Prep Team Member position in Roca, NE. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property.
What you will do
• Prepare the assigned farm attraction, guest area, produce display, equipment, or supplies before opening and keep the area orderly through the shift.
• Welcome visitors, explain the assigned activity or farm procedure clearly, and follow the employer's rules for safe guest movement and participation.
• Communicate crowd, weather, equipment, product, safety, or customer-service concerns to the farm lead promptly.
• Prepare attractions, activity zones, eating areas, restrooms, walkways, and shared farm spaces before opening, checking that each assigned area is clean, stocked, presentable, and ready for visitors.
• Clean and reset high-traffic spaces throughout the day, remove waste and trip hazards promptly, replenish approved supplies, and use cleaning products and protective equipment only according to training.
• Support end-of-day cleanup and the next operating day's preparation, communicating spills, damage, sanitation concerns, missing supplies, unsafe equipment, or areas that need a lead's attention rather than leaving them unresolved.
How the work fits together
Agritourism work connects visitors with a working farm during a concentrated seasonal window. The team prepares before opening, checks the assigned area and supplies, welcomes and directs guests, resets the space throughout service, and completes an orderly close. Employees must balance warmth and efficiency with clear boundaries around farm equipment, animals, crops, traffic, food, and weather. At Roca Berry Farm, the employer also makes these role-specific priorities clear: Prepare attractions, activity zones, eating areas, restrooms, walkways, and shared farm spaces before opening, checking that each assigned area is clean, stocked, presentable, and ready for visitors. Clean and reset high-traffic spaces throughout the day, remove waste and trip hazards promptly, replenish approved supplies, and use cleaning products and protective equipment only according to training. Support end-of-day cleanup and the next operating day's preparation, communicating spills, damage, sanitation concerns, missing supplies, unsafe equipment, or areas that need a lead's attention rather than leaving them unresolved.
What the employer is looking for
• At least 16 years old, dependable and detail-oriented, comfortable working outdoors and around large groups, and able to remain active through a fast-moving fall farm shift.
• Availability for at least 15 hours each week in September and October, especially on weekends, plus reliable transportation and commitment to the agreed schedule through October 31.
• Dependable attendance, direct communication, and willingness to follow the employer's safety, quality, and customer- or production-care procedures.
• Ability to complete the role's active, in-person work and to ask for instruction before using unfamiliar tools, equipment, products, or animal-handling methods.
Schedule, conditions, and compensation
The fall operation runs for approximately 45 days from mid-September through October 31 and includes seven weekends. Employees must be available for at least 15 hours weekly, with weekend availability especially important. The farm does not publish the numeric wage, standard shift length, guaranteed hours above the minimum, overtime treatment, or employee benefits for cleaning and preparation staff. Applicants should confirm the precise season start, assigned days, opening or closing shifts, weather cancellation practices, supplies, and compensation during hiring. The employer does not publish a numeric wage range on this page, so no compensation has been estimated. Applicants should confirm the final hours, overtime treatment, starting assignment, travel or reporting point, supplied equipment, and benefit eligibility directly with the employer before accepting an offer.
This is an in-person horticulture and outdoor position with a small operation. Daily priorities can change with weather, plant or animal condition, equipment availability, customer schedules, and the season. The successful person should arrive ready to work, communicate early when a task or condition is unclear, follow the employer's safety and quality procedures, and leave tools, vehicles, production areas, and job sites secure and ready for the next shift.
Applicants should expect active work that may include long periods of standing or walking, bending, lifting, repetitive hand tasks, noise, dust, mud, pollen, heat, cold, rain, or work around moving equipment. The exact physical demands differ by assignment. Candidates should discuss any accommodation needs with the employer and confirm the final schedule, overtime treatment, training period, travel expectations, and benefit eligibility before accepting an offer. Only compensation and benefits expressly published by the employer are included here; unpublished terms have not been estimated.

Use the Berry Farm Application linked on the employment page and select the cleaning, preparation, or closest related area.
