About this job
Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch is hiring for the 2026 Fall Farm Attractions Team Member position in Blair, NE. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property.
What you will do
• Prepare the assigned farm attraction, guest area, produce display, equipment, or supplies before opening and keep the area orderly through the shift.
• Welcome visitors, explain the assigned activity or farm procedure clearly, and follow the employer's rules for safe guest movement and participation.
• Communicate crowd, weather, equipment, product, safety, or customer-service concerns to the farm lead promptly.
• Open, monitor, reset, and close the assigned farm attraction or guest area, which may involve the corn maze, wildflower field, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, tractor-pulled ride, jump area, slides, games, or another station.
• Welcome guests, explain station rules, watch participation and surrounding traffic, and contact a lead promptly when weather, equipment, animals, crowds, or guest behavior creates a concern outside training.
• Keep the station clean and supplied, help direct visitors around the farm, and assist with neighboring areas, pumpkin handling, setup, or closing work while preserving barriers and safe separation from farm equipment.
How the work fits together
Agritourism work connects visitors with a working farm during a concentrated seasonal window. The team prepares before opening, checks the assigned area and supplies, welcomes and directs guests, resets the space throughout service, and completes an orderly close. Employees must balance warmth and efficiency with clear boundaries around farm equipment, animals, crops, traffic, food, and weather. At Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch, the employer also makes these role-specific priorities clear: Open, monitor, reset, and close the assigned farm attraction or guest area, which may involve the corn maze, wildflower field, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, tractor-pulled ride, jump area, slides, games, or another station. Welcome guests, explain station rules, watch participation and surrounding traffic, and contact a lead promptly when weather, equipment, animals, crowds, or guest behavior creates a concern outside training. Keep the station clean and supplied, help direct visitors around the farm, and assist with neighboring areas, pumpkin handling, setup, or closing work while preserving barriers and safe separation from farm equipment.
What the employer is looking for
• Friendly, attentive, and dependable conduct around children and families, comfort standing and moving outdoors through a busy shift, and willingness to learn and enforce the exact rules for each assigned attraction.
• Reliable transportation to 3935 State Highway 133 in Blair and availability that matches the fall schedule stated in the application, including the weekend or evening shifts agreed with the farm.
• Dependable attendance, direct communication, and willingness to follow the employer's safety, quality, and customer- or production-care procedures.
• Ability to complete the role's active, in-person work and to ask for instruction before using unfamiliar tools, equipment, products, or animal-handling methods.
Schedule, conditions, and compensation
This is part-time seasonal work for the 2026 fall operation. The patch includes daytime, evening, weekend, and selected late-night activities, so applicants should give complete availability rather than assuming every role follows public daytime hours. Skinny Bones does not publish the numeric wage, guaranteed weekly hours, shift lengths, age limits by station, overtime treatment, or employee benefits on the hiring notice. Candidates should confirm those details, orientation dates, season dates, station assignment, weather procedures, and required clothing when contacted. The employer does not publish a numeric wage range on this page, so no compensation has been estimated. Applicants should confirm the final hours, overtime treatment, starting assignment, travel or reporting point, supplied equipment, and benefit eligibility directly with the employer before accepting an offer.
This is an in-person horticulture and outdoor position with a small operation. Daily priorities can change with weather, plant or animal condition, equipment availability, customer schedules, and the season. The successful person should arrive ready to work, communicate early when a task or condition is unclear, follow the employer's safety and quality procedures, and leave tools, vehicles, production areas, and job sites secure and ready for the next shift.
Applicants should expect active work that may include long periods of standing or walking, bending, lifting, repetitive hand tasks, noise, dust, mud, pollen, heat, cold, rain, or work around moving equipment. The exact physical demands differ by assignment. Candidates should discuss any accommodation needs with the employer and confirm the final schedule, overtime treatment, training period, travel expectations, and benefit eligibility before accepting an offer. Only compensation and benefits expressly published by the employer are included here; unpublished terms have not been estimated.
How to apply
Use the 2026 application linked from the Skinny Bones website and provide complete fall availability, reliable contact information, and the work areas you can support. Describe farm, animal, attraction, childcare, teaching, event, retail, safety, customer-service, equipment, or other active outdoor experience.
