Leaman's Green Applebarn is hiring for the Fall Farm Hand position in Freeland, MI. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. What you will do • Feed, water, observe, move, and care for animals according to the farm's routines and welfare standards. • Clean and bed housing, maintain fences and water systems, and keep feed, tools, and care areas orderly. • Report changes in appetite, behavior, movement, injury, health, births, or facility condition immediately. • Care for assigned farm animals by checking feed, water, bedding, gates, and general condition, keeping pens and access areas clean and reporting any health or security concern promptly. • Harvest and move seasonal crops according to the farm's instructions, handling apples, pumpkins, or other products carefully and helping keep orchard and farm work areas orderly. • Complete mowing, minor repairs, setup, cleanup, and general farm projects within training, coordinating with tractor drivers, guest staff, and farm leads when work crosses public areas. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Training takes place in August and the busy season runs from September through October 31. This is part-time seasonal work with different hours available around school, family, and other commitments. Adult positions pay $14.75 per hour.
