Carters' Farm is hiring for the Farm Laborer / Foreman position in Park Rapids, MN. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property. What you will do • Seed, transplant, cultivate, irrigate, harvest, wash, pack, and store crops according to the farm's plan and food-safety procedures. • Use and care for assigned hand tools, wash-pack equipment, carts, and field equipment within training. • Monitor crops and communicate pest, disease, water, weather, quality, or harvest-timing concerns promptly. • Assist with the farm's summer and fall production and harvest work for tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, sweet corn, strawberries, pumpkins, and other crops under the assistant manager's daily direction. • Use hand tools and, when qualified, tractors or other farm equipment, and support basic construction, repair, setup, material handling, and maintenance projects needed for the farm and fall season. • Help organize assigned work and coworkers when asked, keep tools and work areas ready, and communicate crop, equipment, supply, safety, staffing, or schedule concerns before they affect the day's priorities. What the employer is looking for • Applicants must be at least 18, hold a valid driver's license, be available for weekends and flexible hours, follow the assistant manager's direction, and be able to lift 50–100 pounds as safely assigned. • Farm or garden work, basic construction skills, prior responsibility for other employees, and tractor or farm-equipment experience are helpful but not all required. • Dependable attendance, direct communication, and willingness to follow the employer's safety, quality, and customer- or production-care procedures. • Ability to complete the role's active, in-person work and to ask for instruction before using unfamiliar tools, equipment, products, or animal-handling methods. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The 2026 position offers up to 20 hours per week between June and November, with flexible hours and weekend availability required. Starting pay is $16 per hour and can reach $20 per hour based on experience and fit. Because weekly needs can change with produce, weather, farm events, and harvest timing, candidates should ask which regular days are currently available and how much supervisory responsibility accompanies the foreman portion of the title. The employer publishes $16–$20 per hour.
