Rainfield Farm is hiring for the Farmhand position in New Carlisle, IN. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property. What you will do • Seed, transplant, cultivate, irrigate, harvest, wash, pack, and store crops according to the farm's plan and food-safety procedures. • Use and care for assigned hand tools, wash-pack equipment, carts, and field equipment within training. • Monitor crops and communicate pest, disease, water, weather, quality, or harvest-timing concerns promptly. • Split the work between the field team and wash-pack team, with the employer describing an approximate 50/50 division. • Seed and transplant vegetables, cultivate beds, harvest weekly, and complete irrigation, tarp-moving, and general farm-maintenance assignments. • Wash vegetables and package orders accurately for stores and restaurants while following the farm's food-safety procedures. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The published season is April through November, Monday–Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Central. Rainfield lists paid time off, a farm-gear credit, pay reviews, and W-9 independent-contractor classification; applicants should review that classification directly with the farm. The employer publishes $15–$18 per hour. This is an in-person agricultural production position with a small operation.
