Skylight Farms is hiring Field Crew Members in Snohomish. Full- and part-time seasonal opportunities combine crop care, harvesting, and preparing vegetables for customers. What you will do • Seed, transplant, water, fertilize, and weed crops. • Harvest, wash, pack, and prepare produce for distribution. • Help maintain farm facilities, tools, and equipment. • Take responsibility for an area such as greenhouse work, irrigation, or harvest handling. How the work fits together Jonathan and Petrina Fisher began Skylight Farms in 2012 after deciding to build a working life around growing food. Their family operation is situated in the Cathcart Valley, part of the agricultural landscape along the Snohomish River. The business brings ecological growing practices together with a commitment to useful, good-quality food and thoughtful relationships with people. Community connections include work with Farms for Life, which helps fresh food reach people who might otherwise have less access to it. The owners' transition from desk-based careers to farming shapes the business's emphasis on meaningful, hands-on work. Crew members join a production farm where the field, greenhouse, and packing area all contribute to a shared result. A well-tended crop still needs careful harvest and preparation before it can become a meal for a customer. What the employer is looking for • Be at least 18, have dependable transportation, and lift 50 pounds or more. • Work efficiently in outdoor conditions, with patience, attention to detail, and clear communication. • Manage tasks independently while contributing to the team; a vegetable-farming season is preferred. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The main season runs April–November. Typical starts are 8 a.m., moving as early as 6:30 a.m. during peak production. Weekend or holiday work may be needed. Pay depends on experience; discuss the hourly offer and schedule directly. Farm produce is available when supplies allow.
