Field Manager

Moonshadow Farm is hiring a full-time seasonal Field Manager in Hoytsville. Work directly with Andrea Morgan to lead a high-altitude market garden producing vegetables and cut flowers for local households and food businesses. What you will do • Participate in fieldwork and help organize the growing team's daily efforts. • Contribute to crop plans, seasonal scheduling, and farm decisions. • Implement production systems and support longer-term sustainability planning. • Help with land stewardship, maintenance, and infrastructure during the shoulder seasons. How the work fits together Moonshadow's roots are in a forty-year farming tradition in Utah's Wasatch Back. Andrea is carrying that history forward while developing new relationships and ways for people to connect with the land. Spring water supplies the crops, and the farm's approach combines organic, regenerative, and biodynamic principles. Community-supported agriculture links households with the harvest, while chefs and restaurants provide another connection between the growing beds and local tables. Flowers are also part of the business, including seasonal bouquets that draw on perennial plants, woody stems, branches, and other materials from the farm. Tours and conversations about agriculture extend the farm's educational role. The Field Manager joins a place where crop quality, relationships, and care for the growing site are closely connected. What the employer is looking for • Have at least five years of hands-on farming or market-garden experience. • Be enthusiastic about fieldwork, community engagement, and agricultural education. • Motivate others and communicate clearly across the farm's different activities. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The full-time seasonal schedule runs April through November. Compensation depends on experience.
