Bleed Heart Floral is hiring for the Flower Farm Field Crew Member position in Mazeppa, MN. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property. What you will do • Seed, transplant, cultivate, irrigate, harvest, wash, pack, and store crops according to the farm's plan and food-safety procedures. • Use and care for assigned hand tools, wash-pack equipment, carts, and field equipment within training. • Monitor crops and communicate pest, disease, water, weather, quality, or harvest-timing concerns promptly. • Support the full cycle of cut-flower production by seeding, transplanting, weeding, irrigating, harvesting, processing flowers, and cleaning production areas and harvest equipment. • Harvest and handle stems with close attention to maturity, stem quality, bunch specifications, and damage prevention so flowers are ready for the farm's CSA, wholesale, wedding, and design work. • Maintain speed and accuracy through repetitive field and processing tasks, finish assigned rows or batches, and communicate irrigation, crop-health, quality, supply, or timing concerns to the small team. What the employer is looking for • Commercial farm, production-horticulture, landscape-crew, or comparable manual-labor experience is preferred; gardening or floral-design experience by itself does not reflect the production pace of this role. • Reliable transportation to the farm near Mazeppa and ability to lift 50 pounds, work for extended periods in all weather, and repeatedly bend, stoop, kneel, cut, dig, and stand on uneven terrain. • Dependable attendance, direct communication, and willingness to follow the employer's safety, quality, and customer- or production-care procedures. • Ability to complete the role's active, in-person work and to ask for instruction before using unfamiliar tools, equipment, products, or animal-handling methods. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Full-time crew work about 40 hours per week from March through October, with possible winter work for employees committed to returning and occasional Sundays, especially during the September dahlia harvest. Part-time crew work approximately 24–32 hours per week from May through October, with some flexibility in days and hours. Pay is $15–$25 per hour depending on experience. The farm prioritizes full-time candidates interested in a long-term role. The employer publishes $15–$25 per hour.
