About this job

Far Bungalow Farm is hiring a part-time Flower Farmer in Leesburg. Help grow, prepare, and present seasonal flowers in a small business that combines flower farming with floral design. What you will do • Prepare growing beds and help plant seasonal flowers. • Weed, mulch, and carry out hands-on crop care. • Process flowers, build bouquets, and pack orders. • Help at occasional weekend markets and pop-up sales. How the work fits together Far Bungalow began in 2020 after its founder moved to Loudoun County following several years working in flower shops in New York City and Portland. A small house on Rockland Farm, a property held by the family for seven generations, gave the business its name. The move brought flower growing into a practice that had previously centered on design. Today, the farm's approach emphasizes seasonal beauty, locally sourced stems, and reducing waste in floral work. Sustainable growing and thoughtful material choices guide the connection between the field and finished arrangements. Rather than treating production and design as separate worlds, the business brings them together in one small operation. Flowers grown and handled by the team become part of everyday arrangements, weddings, events, and other local celebrations. What the employer is looking for • Be dependable, accountable, and ready to take initiative. • Follow instructions carefully and pay attention to quality and detail. • Work positively with others and handle active outdoor labor in changing weather. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The position is seasonal, approximately 20–30 hours per week, with starting pay of $15 hourly. Work includes both field tasks and preparing flowers for sale. Occasional weekend availability is needed for markets or pop-ups. Discuss the seasonal dates and weekly schedule when applying. How to apply Email farbungalowfarm@gmail.com with a cover letter introducing yourself, your interest in growing flowers, a resume, and two references. Identify the Flower Farmer role and explain your weekday and weekend availability and any relevant farming, gardening, or floral experience.
