Irrigation & Landscape Lighting Technician

Bay Landscaping is hiring an irrigation and landscape-lighting technician in Mobile. The technician installs new systems and monitors and repairs existing systems so water distribution and lighting operate efficiently. This is a field-troubleshooting role for someone who understands valves, controllers, wiring, tools, and customer properties and who can work professionally with a small local team. What you will do • Install new irrigation and low-voltage landscape-lighting systems according to the project plan. • Monitor existing systems and make adjustments that improve operating efficiency. • Repair or replace valves and locate buried valves safely. • Trace electrical components and diagnose controller, wiring, or field-device problems. • Install and program irrigation clocks and timers and verify zones after work is complete. • Follow company policy, communicate clearly with teammates and customers, and protect customer satisfaction. How the work fits together A service call begins with understanding the reported problem, observing system behavior, and testing likely hydraulic or electrical causes before replacing parts. Installation work requires sequencing trenches, pipe or wire, valves, heads or fixtures, controls, testing, backfill, and cleanup. The technician should document what was found and changed so the next visit or crew member has usable information. What the employer is looking for • At least two years of experience as an irrigation or landscape-lighting technician. • Knowledge of relevant tools and equipment and ability to organize field work. • Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean record plus personal transportation. • Hardworking, reliable, flexible, professional teamwork and availability Monday–Friday with occasional weekends. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay is based on experience and qualifications, with no dollar range published.
