Desert Pines Equine Medical and Surgical Center is hiring for the Large Animal Veterinary Technician position in Las Vegas, NV. What you will do • Feed, water, observe, move, and care for animals according to the farm's routines and welfare standards. • Clean and bed housing, maintain fences and water systems, and keep feed, tools, and care areas orderly. • Report changes in appetite, behavior, movement, injury, health, births, or facility condition immediately. • Assist with equine surgery and anesthesia within credentials and training, prepare patients and treatment areas, monitor assigned parameters, and communicate observations to the veterinarian without delay. • Perform prescribed treatments for hospitalized horses, handle horses in the clinic and field, and support ambulatory appointments while following each doctor's directions and the hospital's patient, medication, sanitation, and safety procedures. • Enter complete patient records and invoices in HVMS, work accurately on a computer while traveling in an ambulatory vehicle, and keep treatment, surgical, field, and hospitalization supplies organized for the next case. Schedule, conditions, and compensation This is a full-time position supporting both ambulatory and clinic work, a surgical facility, and hospitalized cases. Rotating weekends and nights on call are required.
