Lawn & Ornamental Service Technician

Heritage Lawn and Tree Care is seeking a dependable lawn and ornamental service technician to manage a Birmingham-area route. This plant-health role applies turf and ornamental fertilizers and controls for weeds and insects at residential and commercial properties. It requires accurate mixing, organized route work, professional customer contact, and careful use of spraying and spreading equipment. What you will do • Manage an assigned residential and commercial route for turf and ornamental services. • Acquire, mix, and apply fertilizers, weed-control products, and insect-control materials according to labels and company procedures. • Operate and care for sprayers, spreaders, and other lawn, tree, and shrub treatment tools. • Observe turf and ornamental condition and document work and notable property concerns. • Plan route time, communicate professionally with clients, and complete service records accurately. • Maintain vehicle and product organization and comply with storage, transport, protective-equipment, and application requirements. How the work fits together The technician prepares the day's route and materials, verifies the correct products and rates, services each property, documents the work, and keeps products and equipment secure. Plant-health work cannot be rushed casually: the technician must distinguish the target area, protect non-target plants and people, respond to weather restrictions, and avoid contamination. Good organization allows the route to stay efficient without compromising label compliance or customer communication. What the employer is looking for • Experience mixing and applying products with spraying equipment, spreaders, and related tools. • A valid driver's license and ability to meet the employer's fleet-insurance requirements. • Ability to pass a drug test and background check and maintain organized, professional client service. • An Alabama OTPS license is preferred; applicants should accurately state their current credential and relevant plant-health experience.
