Orchard & Produce Warehouse Worker

Rittman Orchards is hiring seasonal workers for its orchard and produce warehouse in Doylestown. Help gather the harvest, prepare fruit for sale, and keep the farm market supplied. Both full-time and part-time applicants are welcome. What you will do • Harvest orchard produce and help with watering, weeding, and outdoor cleanup. • Wash and sort apples, bag fruit, and prepare produce orders for restaurants. • Stock the market, move produce into the cooler, and keep warehouse areas organized. How the work fits together The Vodraska family bought Rittman Orchards in 2004 and set about restoring its neglected plantings. The market was rebuilt the following year, and the business has continued adding crops and products. Chris and Matt now carry forward the family's growing tradition, while Amanda helps lead the market and its connections with visitors and restaurant customers. The family's Bent Ladder cidery and winery also grew from the orchard business. For the harvest team, the connection between orchard and market is immediate: produce comes in from the fields, passes through the warehouse, and goes out to retail shoppers or restaurants. The work provides a view of several parts of a family fruit operation within the same season. What the employer is looking for • Be able to lift and carry 40 pounds. • Be available for shifts running 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, according to your agreed schedule. • Be prepared for a combination of outdoor orchard work and indoor produce handling. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay is $13/hour, with a 10% discount on store purchases. This is seasonal work dependent on weather and harvest needs.
