The Walden Woods Project Farm is hiring for the Organic Farm Hand position in Concord, MA. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. Reliable execution and early communication matter because the work directly affects plants, animals, equipment, coworkers, customers, or the surrounding property. What you will do • Seed, transplant, cultivate, irrigate, harvest, wash, pack, and store crops according to the farm's plan and food-safety procedures. • Use and care for assigned hand tools, wash-pack equipment, carts, and field equipment within training. • Monitor crops and communicate pest, disease, water, weather, quality, or harvest-timing concerns promptly. • Help cultivate, tend, and harvest the eight-acre certified-organic vegetable crop, following farm priorities for planting, irrigation, weeds, crop care, harvest, and field cleanup. • Wash, sort, pack, and prepare the farm's produce for its small stand and CSA, protecting quality and maintaining accurate, clean post-harvest work areas. • Troubleshoot routine field and workflow issues within training, adapt to weather and crop needs, and communicate plant, water, tool, material, or timing concerns to the farmer. Schedule, conditions, and compensation This is a part-time temporary position for the remainder of the June-through-October 2026 farm season at 1035 Concord Turnpike. The hourly rate starts at $15.
