Dooryard Farm is hiring for the Organic Field Crew position in Camden, ME. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. What you will do • Seed, transplant, cultivate, irrigate, harvest, wash, pack, and store crops according to the farm's plan and food-safety procedures. • Use and care for assigned hand tools, wash-pack equipment, carts, and field equipment within training. • Monitor crops and communicate pest, disease, water, weather, quality, or harvest-timing concerns promptly. • Carry out assigned field production across the farm's diversified vegetable crops using the operation's tractor-scale, hand-scale, and no-till methods while protecting soil structure and fertility. • Help monitor and care for the farm's few animals and communicate water, feed, health, fence, or housing concerns before moving on to lower-priority field work. • Harvest and prepare produce for the on-site farm store and local restaurant or co-op customers, maintaining careful handling, organization, and cleanup from field through sale. The crew checks urgent irrigation and harvest needs first, then moves through field production, post-harvest handling, accurate packing, storage, and cleanup. Schedule, conditions, and compensation These are full- and part-time seasonal positions running from April through November. Pay is competitive for the industry and based on position and experience, but no numeric range is published. All employees accrue paid time off and receive a farm-store discount; full-time employees receive five paid sick days, and employees completing the season receive a bonus. Housing is not listed.
