Organic Field Lead

Calyx Farm is hiring for the Organic Field Lead position in Morrill, ME. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. What you will do • Plan and direct seasonal crop, orchard, livestock, labor, equipment, material, and facility priorities for the assigned farm. • Train and supervise staff while also working alongside the crew during planting, cultivation, harvest, animal care, maintenance, and other time-sensitive work. • Track production, quality, safety, staffing, and resource needs and communicate decisions and exceptions across the farm's operating teams. • Translate the crop plan and current field conditions into clear daily seeding, planting, cultivation, irrigation, harvest, and cleanup priorities for the field crew. • Lead production work in the field, demonstrate the expected pace and quality, check completed rows or harvests, and redirect labor as weather, crop condition, or market needs change. • Communicate crop-health, pest, water, material, equipment, labor, and timing concerns to the farmers and maintain useful records or task notes for follow-through. Schedule, conditions, and compensation This is a full-time 2026 Field Lead position of 36–40 hours per week at $18–$21 per hour depending on experience.
