Organic Vegetable Field Crew Member

Anchor Run CSA is hiring vegetable field crew members in Wrightstown. Join a small team growing certified-organic produce for local households, with full-time, part-time, and part-season arrangements available. What you will do • Participate in the farm's vegetable-production work across the growing season. • Work with the crew to bring crops through to the CSA harvest. • Learn the farm's production methods and contribute a dependable work ethic. How the work fits together Derek McGeehan and Dana Hunting took over the CSA in 2009 after leaving careers in environmental engineering and urban planning. The farm grows a wide range of vegetables on about thirteen acres, with additional land used for rotations and habitat. Cover crops, compost, mineral amendments, careful water use, and reduced tillage support soil health. Fabric barriers protect vulnerable crops, while streams, woodland, and meadow areas provide habitat for beneficial wildlife. The farm has also established permanent pollinator plantings and uses solar power. Its production serves a CSA community over a twenty-eight-week harvest season. Field work therefore supports both a diverse growing system and an ongoing relationship with the households sharing its harvest. What the employer is looking for • Enjoy plants, active outdoor work, and working with other people. • Bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic. • Prior farming experience is welcome but not required. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay is $15–$19/hour depending on experience, plus a CSA share of your choice and farm eggs. Full-time schedules average 40 hours Monday–Friday, with additional peak-season opportunities. March and November hours typically decrease to 30–35; December work depends on the harvest.
