Land's Sake Farm is hiring for the Organic Vegetable Field Crew position in Weston, MA. This hands-on role supports the operation's day-to-day production and care work. What you will do • Seed, transplant, cultivate, irrigate, harvest, wash, pack, and store crops according to the farm's plan and food-safety procedures. • Use and care for assigned hand tools, wash-pack equipment, carts, and field equipment within training. • Monitor crops and communicate pest, disease, water, weather, quality, or harvest-timing concerns promptly. • Harvest, trellis, plant, and weed diversified vegetable crops, completing repetitive field work at the required pace while preserving crop quality and row consistency. • Set up and maintain fencing and irrigation, assist with general farm upkeep, and report water, pest, crop, tool, or infrastructure problems to the crew lead. • Seed, water, and pot up greenhouse plants and care for high-tunnel crops, adjusting work as protected-culture and outdoor production priorities change. Schedule, conditions, and compensation The full-time position starts immediately and runs through October for 45–50 hours over five days each week. The fixed schedule is determined before the employee starts. Normal days run from 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with a paid one-hour lunch; optional extensions may occur before weather events, and hazardous conditions may cancel work. Starting pay is $18 per hour. Employees receive free farm produce, farmstand discounts, and paid sick time under Massachusetts law. No housing is listed.
