Pack Shed Lead

Boldly Grown Farm is hiring a year-round Pack Shed Lead in Bow, with a September or October start. Lead hands-on postharvest work alongside the pack-shed manager. What you will do • Receive, wash, pack, label, and store vegetables accurately. • Coordinate crew tasks, inventory, order assembly, and quality checks. • Maintain food-safety procedures, records, equipment, and clean work areas. • Operate forklifts and assist with crop transport, deliveries, and field work. How the work fits together Amy Frye and Jacob Slosberg established Boldly Grown in 2015 and purchased their Bow farm in 2021. The family business specializes in the vegetables that make local eating possible through fall and winter. Its customers include a sizable CSA membership, wholesale buyers, and visitors to a year-round farm stand. Chicories, storage crops, and other seasonal vegetables give the harvest a varied character. Organic growing and Salmon-Safe practices are part of the farm's approach to caring for soil and water. Crop rotations, cover crops, habitat for beneficial organisms, and observation of field conditions support production. The pack shed connects that growing work with customers: careful handling, storage, and order preparation protect the value of crops after they leave the field and help keep winter food moving reliably. What the employer is looking for • Bring leadership ability, attention to detail, and practical problem-solving skills. • Have a license, lift 40 pounds, and communicate in English or Spanish. • Produce-handling, forklift, tractor, and bilingual experience are useful advantages. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay is $18–$24 hourly. Hours vary seasonally, generally 35–50 weekly May–January and 20–40 February–April. Benefits include paid leave, overtime, produce, discounts, and eligible retirement matching. A gear/wellness allowance begins after three months. The pack shed is unheated.
