About this job

Steadfast Acres is hiring a Pack Shed Specialist near Lone Rock for its 2026 vegetable season. Help organize the harvest for farm shares, wholesale orders, and farmers markets. What you will do • Wash, sort, count, and pack vegetables accurately. • Keep pack-shed work organized and moving at a productive pace. • Prepare produce for the farm's different customer orders. • Work alongside the owners and complete trained tasks independently. How the work fits together Elisabeth and Steven met while working and learning on other farms. After several seasons managing leased land, they purchased their own place near Lone Rock and developed Steadfast Acres there. Steven's background in cooking informs his focus on ingredients, while Elisabeth's experience with gardens and organic farming shapes her approach to caring for the land. The property combines vegetable ground with pasture and wetland along Bear Creek. Organic certification followed their transition work. The business remains small enough that staff often work directly with one or both owners. Its mix of CSA, market, retail, and wholesale customers means the harvest must be prepared for several different destinations. An organized pack shed helps turn that varied production into reliable deliveries and keeps freshly grown vegetables moving to the people expecting them. What the employer is looking for • Be punctual, organized, and able to manage time and multiple tasks. • Communicate clearly in writing and conversation. • Lift forty pounds and handle repeated bending, crouching, and kneeling. • Maintain speed and care during repetitive work; be prepared for outdoor tasks in changing weather. Schedule, conditions, and compensation This can be a part-time role, with peak shifts Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday around 9 a.m.–3 p.m. The growing season continues through October, potentially into November. Pay is hourly and depends on experience; no fixed rate is advertised. Access to seasonal produce is included. A dependable agreed schedule is needed to meet weekly order deadlines. How to apply Email farmers@steadfast-acres.com with a resume, a brief explanation of your interest, and three references. State your availability for packing days and your remaining-season dates. Discuss the hourly offer and exact schedule with the owners.
