Produce & Pack Room Farm Team Member

Riehm Produce Farm is hiring for its on-site produce and pack room team in Tiffin. Help harvest vegetables and prepare them for customers, with full-time and part-time opportunities. The year-round produce and pack room option is suited to applicants interested in the farm beyond its autumn visitor season. What you will do • Help harvest produce grown on the farm. • Wash and prepare vegetables for packing. • Pack produce carefully and assist with other farm tasks as assigned. • Work cooperatively with the team while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-moving environment. How the work fits together Riehm's family history spans five generations, with vegetable production dating back to the 1950s. John, Diane, and their son Phil carry that work forward through a roadside stand and a community-supported agriculture program. What began as a small front-yard produce table developed into a farm market, while the CSA began in 2004. Today, vegetables grow both in the fields and in ten unheated greenhouses, allowing the farm to supply produce throughout the year. The family also raises livestock and grows feed crops. Farm boxes connect that production with households around Tiffin, Findlay, and the greater Toledo area. Harvesting and packing are the practical steps that prepare those crops for the people who will use them at home. What the employer is looking for • Be at least 15 years old and able to lift up to 50 pounds. • Have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to get along with others. • Stay attentive to detail while working at pace; previous farm experience is not required. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Training is provided on the job. Daytime and evening hours are available, with the final schedule and wage discussed during hiring.
