Seasonal Farm Crew Member

Skinny Dip Farm is hiring seasonal crew members to help grow and prepare organic produce. Work with Hannah and Ben Wolbach and their core team at sites in both Little Compton, Rhode Island, and Westport, Massachusetts. What you will do • Hoe, hand-weed, plant, and harvest a variety of crops. • Wash and pack produce for sale. • Work independently and with others on repeated field tasks. • Potentially help sell produce at farmers markets. How the work fits together Hannah and Ben established Skinny Dip in 2011 after managing another small farm together. Their crop selection includes salad greens, roots, tomatoes, peppers, squash, beans, herbs, and other seasonal vegetables. Flowers add a different part of the growing year, with blooms such as sunflowers and zinnias joining the food crops. The business emphasizes growing a varied selection and selling it close to where it is produced. Certified-organic vegetables and herbs are central to the operation, while the flowers are grown without sprays. This variety makes the harvest change over the season and gives crew members opportunities to become familiar with different plants. The work supports a family business closely connected to its local customers and the land it tends. What the employer is looking for • Lift 50 pounds repeatedly and be comfortable with hands-and-knees work outdoors. • Have dependable transportation to both farm locations. • Bring a positive attitude; farming experience is preferred. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay is $16–$18/hour plus seasonal produce. Typical weekdays are 7 a.m.–3:30 p.m., including a half-hour lunch; market shifts differ.
