Tractor Driver - Fall Farm Rides

Hurds Family Farm is hiring part-time Tractor Drivers for its fall season in Modena. Help visitors enjoy the orchard through safe, welcoming farm rides. The position is a good fit for someone who enjoys outdoor work, stays calm around crowds, and wants to be part of a family-run agricultural business. What you will do • Drive farm rides, including hayrides, cow trains, and bin trains. • Keep the guest experience safe and enjoyable while moving families around the farm. • Remain patient and composed during busy periods and long lines. How the work fits together The Hurd family has farmed for more than 130 years and hosted family festivals for over three decades. Sixth-generation farmers Charles and Sarah oversee the orchard and visitor operation, with other generations contributing to projects, activities, and the farm's appearance. Apples remain part of the working landscape, while a historic Dutch barn, a family-designed corn maze, and seasonal attractions welcome people onto the property. School groups, families, and community organizations visit to pick, play, and spend time outdoors. Tractor rides are one part of that broader experience: they connect the farm's agricultural setting with the visitors who come to enjoy it. Many members of the seasonal team first knew the farm as guests themselves. What the employer is looking for • Hold a valid New York State driver's license. • Enjoy serving guests and working outside with a team. • Previous driving experience is not required; mechanical knowledge or familiarity with farm equipment is helpful. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Pay ranges from $16 to $25 an hour depending on experience. Flexible part-time hours are available during September and October, and training is provided on the job. The work location is 2187 State Route 32, Modena, rather than the farm's separate mailing address.
