Tree Planting Crew Member

Shades of Green Nursery + Landscape is hiring full-time Tree Planting Crew Members. Work outdoors installing trees and shrubs for customers, with weekday scheduling and training available for applicants new to the work. What you will do • Help plant and remove trees and shrubs, and spread soil and mulch. • Move pottery and load or unload trucks. • Learn planting practices that support healthy trees. • Communicate with customers and coworkers, assist with vehicles, and clean completed work areas. How the work fits together Shades of Green began in 1977 when childhood friends Jeff McCauley and Rob Wier started a horticultural business. Over time, it developed nursery growing, a retail garden center, and planting services for North Texas. Native perennials and plants suited to the region's demanding conditions became an important part of its selection. The family business continued into a second generation when Jeff's son-in-law and daughter joined its management. Its Celina garden center opened in 2022, adding a spacious local destination for plants and gardening advice. The company combines plant sales with the practical work of getting trees and gardens established. The tree crew serves that part of the business, taking plants beyond the nursery and helping customers begin their long-term care in the ground. What the employer is looking for • Be self-motivated and willing to take initiative. • Lift at least 50 pounds and perform demanding outdoor work. • Work cooperatively and communicate clearly; prior experience is not required. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Full-time tree-crew positions work Monday–Friday without weekend shifts.
