Faircrest Farms is hiring a part-time Urban Farm Crew Member in Ogden. Help sow, tend, and harvest crops at a small regenerative farm growing vegetables, fruit, and flowers for the local community. What you will do • Help sow crops and care for plants as the growing season progresses. • Assist with harvesting the farm's produce and flowers. • Work cooperatively with a small team on hands-on growing tasks. • Contribute practical vegetable- or flower-growing experience to the farm's daily work. How the work fits together Karl and Rita Ebeling founded Faircrest Farms in 2022, drawing inspiration from Karl's grandfather's Pennsylvania farm. Their Ogden operation grows food for customers at the farm, local markets, and restaurants. Regenerative agriculture and permaculture inform both the growing work and the way the farm welcomes its community. Karl brings experience from assisting at Wasatch Community Gardens, while Rita's background includes science education and restorative teaching practices. The couple also offers classes, workshops, and mentoring that help neighbors develop practical skills for sustainable living. Their separate nonprofit work through Eden Streets connects urban farming with transitional employment and community support. Faircrest remains a close-knit operation where the founders work to bring together food production, environmental stewardship, and opportunities for people to learn. The crew position supports its productive growing work rather than a classroom-only program.
