Kirsop Farm is hiring a full-time Veggie Crew Member in Rochester. Help grow, harvest, and prepare organic vegetables in a mixed farm setting with a steady weekday schedule. What you will do • Transplant, weed, prune, and trellis vegetable crops. • Harvest produce and prepare it through washing and packing. • Keep tools and work areas clean and organized. • Follow food-safety practices throughout harvest and handling. How the work fits together Kirsop operates on farmland protected by the Scatter Creek Farm Conservancy. The arrangement keeps agricultural land in production while supporting the people who make their living there. The Rochester property includes open fields and natural features within the wider Chehalis River landscape. Vegetables are one part of a diversified business that also produces grain and pasture-based animal products. Customers encounter the farm through farmers markets, food hubs, and other local outlets. This mix of crops and products reflects a commitment to both useful farmland and a healthy surrounding environment. The vegetable crew contributes to the practical connection between soil stewardship and the food people buy each week. Careful growing, timely harvesting, and clean packing all help the farm deliver the quality its customers expect from a local producer. What the employer is looking for • Have reliable transportation and availability for weekday work through November. • Lift 40–50 pounds safely and remain on your feet for extended periods outdoors. • Be dependable, efficient, receptive to instruction, and comfortable working alone or with others. • Farm experience is preferred but not required; ask questions when instructions need clarification. Schedule, conditions, and compensation Starting pay is $18 hourly for a predictable 40-hour week, Monday–Friday. Work generally begins at 8 a.m., earlier when needed seasonally.
